Social Studies Teacher

My Bio

Hello! My name is Ali Tenney! My favorite color is pink, I love sharks and The Beatles, and I am beyond excited to be teaching high school history here at San Tan Charter!

I grew up in Payson, Arizona and moved to Flagstaff, Arizona after high school to attend Northern Arizona University. In December of 2018, I graduated from NAU with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education for History and Social Studies.

I am passionate about education, and especially about small schools like San Tan Charter, because of the potential for positive relationships that help ensure student success. As a teacher, I strongly believe in teaching students critical thinking skills that give them the opportunity to not only learn history but to find success in the complex world around them.

I love working at a small school where all staff share my passion for supporting students in their character growth as well as their academic learning.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my favorite people. We love hiking, camping, traveling, and playing sports and games. I also enjoy time on my own to read books, watch movies, and make music. I am so excited for this school year and the opportunities to become a greater part of this amazing community!
